![]() ![]() Playing in Co-op you can experience double the boredom! Imagine squabbling with your friend over repair kits only to be interrupted by a zombie teleporting in. ![]() It's so wonderful that GOG.com was able to rescue System Shock 2 from licensing purgatory because now a whole new generation of gamers can experience the most overrated PC game of all time. ![]() It works, down to the chilling sterile look and the sound design. horrible, horrible bit, maybe worse with a friend. I thought that about the atmosphere, but me and a friend had to stop when we got to the hangers (and he abandoned ship). I hope you do find someone to play it with you. I wouldn't necessarily consider the complexity a demerit, it's just the norm for games today to be more streamlined than games from that era. I think it's pretty hard to argue that it's not more complicated than the BioShock games, though three starting classes, multiple ammo types per weapon, weapon degradation/repair/mods, an overwhelming amount of skill upgrade options, one-time enhancements, tons of psi powers, the research system, etc. The isolation and helplessness you feel, and the drive throughout most of the game to find someone - anyone - who was still alive.Īmazing game though. ![]() But in our case, we're still going to be experiencing it together, whether I'm playing and she's watching or if we're both playing.Keres wrote:Personal opinion, but I feel like playing this game co-op sort of undermines the atmosphere. Most of what I've read say that System Shock 2's multiplayer isn't the way to experience it first because its better to feel alone. I've heard that multiplayer is an option on System Shock 2, and normally we'd just automatically pick that, but from what I've read it sounds like most people think the game is better as a single-player experience and that the multiplayer was added due to the insistence of the publisher rather than Looking Glass/Irrational. Our current plan is to play Bioshock 1 and Bioshock 2 over the summer, and if we still have time try and do System Shock 1 and 2. Infinite is the only one we've completed or even really played (I played a lot of System Shock 1 by myself a long time ago but I didn't get very far because of other distractions). We also played the Burial at Sea expansion packs which lead into the original Bioshock. This month we played Bioshock Infinite and both of us really enjoyed it. My sister likes to watch a lot of the games I play if the plot interests her. ![]()
